ドイツ系移民の米国人で、医者で発明家であったアレン・デビルビス博士が気管支や鼻咽に薬を吹き付け塗布するためにアトマイザーを開発,その後、世界で初めてスプレーガンを製造し、家具塗装や自動車塗装用に使用され始めたらしいです
